Dr. Brad Swisher
Dr. Brad Swisher was born and raised in South Charleston, West Virginia. He graduated from South Charleston High School International Baccalaureate Program. He attended West Virginia Wesleyan College and received a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry. Dr. Swisher also took many computer science classes to gain knowledge in his interest for technology.
Dr. Swisher is an Honor graduate from West Virginia University Doctor of Dental Surgery Program. His philosophy is based on preventive dentistry and patient education to achieve optimal oral and general health. He has had the opportunity to experience a wide variety of new technology currently being introduced into dentistry. He is enthusiastic about offering the best possible treatment for patients based on their own individual needs. As a general dentist, he is currently practicing comprehensive family dentistry. He is devoted to advanced training and attends the best continuing education courses.
Dr. Swisher received several awards in Dental School: The Sabe Issac Howard Memorial Scholarship, Best of the Best Whip Mix Prosthodontics Award, President of Dental Class, Honors Program, and graduated in the top percentage of his class. He is a member of the American Dental Association, Virginia Dental Association, Charlottesville Albemarle Dental Society, and the Shenandoah Valley Dental Society.
Dr. Swisher loves the outdoors. He is an avid snowboarder and motorcyclist. He enjoys spending time with his family and Boxer Zoey.
Dr. Mark P. Sapon
Dr. Mark Sapon is a graduate of West Virginia University where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology and then a Doctorate of Dental Surgery from West Virginia School of Dentistry.
He is a member of the American Dental Association, The Academy of General Dentistry, and Charlottesville-Albemarle Dental Society.
His primary focus in practice is providing quality dental care in a gentle, comprehensive manner with an emphasis on positive and caring patient relationships.
He enjoys playing golf, watching WVU football and basketball, and spending time with his wife Meaghan and their two boys, Mason and Landon.
Dr. Katy Brandt
Dr. Katy Brandt was born and raised in Des Moines, IA and relocated to Charlottesville in 2014. She received a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Iowa. She then went on to earn a Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the University Of Iowa College Of Dentistry.
She received a Public Health certificate during dental school and enjoys participating in community outreach. She also received several leadership awards for her work with the Iowa American Student Dental Association. She is currently a member of the American Dental Association, the Virginia Dental Association and the Charlottesville Albemarle Dental Society.
Dr. Brandt is a general practice dentist. Her practice philosophy is centered on patient care with open communication. She emphasizes overall oral health with a focus on prevention, in addition to treatment. She is excited to be a part of the Charlottesville dental community!
Dr. Brandt enjoys traveling, watching Hawkeye football, and playing with her dog Bria.
Ashlee was born and raised in the hometown of the most famous groundhog the world has ever known - Punxsutawney, PA. She moved to Surfside Beach, SC, and attended Horry Georgetown Technical College where she received an AAS in Dental Hygiene in 2005. Ashlee returned to Western PA where she began her career as a Dental Hygienist. In 2016 she relocated to Charlottesville. Outside the office, Ashlee loves caring for the animals in her life, spending time with her family and friends, gardening, and trying new recipes in the kitchen.
Betsy, a Charlottesville native, graduated from Radford University with a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration and Old Dominion University with a Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene. Betsy enjoys working with patients in her hometown and creating new friendships along the way. When not working, she enjoys spending time with her husband, Rob, dog, Bailey, and family.
Leah was born and raised in a small town south of Chicago. She attended Southern Illinois University at Carbondale, and renewed her Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene in 2009. She moved to Northern Virginia following completion of her degree, where she worked as a hygienist and rock climbing instructor. She moved to Charlottesville in 2014. In her free time, Leah enjoys traveling, cycling, gardening, exploring, and raising chickens. On the weekends in May through October she can usually be found at different venues photographing weddings.
Makayla was born and raised in Stuarts Draft, Virginia. She graduated from Blue Ridge Community College in 2015 with an Associate’s Degree in Applied Science. In 2018, she received an Associate’s Degree in Dental Hygiene from Wytheville Community College. In her spare time, Makayla enjoys hanging out with friends and family, being outdoors, and spending time with her dog.
Julie has been a dental assistant for ten years. She loves patient interaction and learning new things everyday. When she is not assisting Dr. Swisher she can be found on the sidelines of her two sons’ soccer, baseball, and football games. She also loves to improve her culinary skills by trying out new recipes on her family.
Olivia grew up in Northern Virginia and moved to the Charlottesville area about ten years ago. She has been with the practice since 2016. Olivia is passionate about patient comfort and values connecting with her patients on a personal level. She spends her free time exploring the area with her husband, Travis, and their bulldog, Tank. She enjoys running in local races. She is also very active in her church; singing with the worship team and working with the youth group.
Originally from Perth, Australia, Kylie moved to Virginia in 2001. She initially came to Virginia to visit family and fell in love with Charlottesville. She started as a patient at our office three years ago. She loved her time at the office so much that she decided to pursue a career in dentistry. Outside of work she enjoys running and horseback riding.

Stacy, Office Manager
Stacy grew up in Charleston, West Virginia. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Finance and Accounting from Shepherd University, as well as, a M.A. in Business Administration from the University of Charleston. Stacy and her family moved to Charlottesville in 2010. She is a CPR and First Aid instructor. She loves spending time with her family, traveling, scuba diving, whitewater kayaking, camping and fishing.
Mary, Scheduling Coordinator
Mary graduated from Charlottesville High School. She attended Piedmont Virginia Community College and studied business management. She has been with the practice since 2011. Mary has great communication skills and is always doing her best to make sure that patients are scheduled and informed. She enjoys reading, crafting, and spending time with her daughter and three dogs.
Katrina was born in Bad Kissingen, Germany. She has been with the practice since 2016. Katrina was inspired to pursue a career in dentistry after working as a veterinary animal health assistant for eight years. Katrina handles all insurance questions and claims. In her spare time, she enjoys projects as a new home owner.
Michelle is a native of Erie, PA, where she graduated from Villa Maria Academy. She joined the practice in April 2019 after relocating to Gordonsville with her husband. She brings over 23 years of dental experience to the office. In her free time, she enjoys traveling and spending time with her family.
Alease was born in Greene County, VA and has lived there all her life. She graduated from William Monroe High School in 2017. She plans to continue her college education at PVCC in the fall of 2020. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her friends and family, being outdoors, and traveling with her fiancé.
Brandilynne “Bran” was born and raised in Greene County, VA. She is currently attending Germanna Community College pursuing an associate degree in Dental Hygiene. After graduation, she plans to become a Registered Dental Hygienist. In her free time, she competes in pageants and volunteers with community service projects. She also enjoys working on her Jeep Wrangler and training her German Shepherd, Delta.
